Cookie policy. Only what's needed.
Last updated 2 November 2026
- We only use cookies that keep you signed in or remember a choice you made.
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party trackers.
- That's why there's no cookie banner to accept.
1. What we use
Cookies and browser storage are small pieces of data saved by your browser. We only use ones that are strictly necessary for the club to work or that remember a choice you made. Under UK law these don't need your consent, so there's no cookie banner.
2. Every cookie we set
| Name | Where | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-…-auth-token | Platform (cookie) | Keeps you signed in (Supabase authentication). | Until you sign out or the session expires |
| smc-theme | Both sites (cookie on the platform, browser storage on the public site) | Remembers light or dark mode. | 1 year |
| smc-banner-dismissed | Public site (browser storage) | Remembers that you closed the event banner. | Until you clear it |
When you pay, Stripe's checkout pages may set their own cookies to prevent fraud. Those are covered by Stripe's cookie policy. Signing in with Google or LinkedIn works the same way on their sites.
3. Analytics without cookies
We count page views and measure page speed with Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, and count listing views on our own servers. None of these use cookies or identify you. See the Privacy policy for details.
4. Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookie, you won't be able to sign in to the platform. Clearing browser storage resets your theme and banner choices.
5. Changes
If we ever want to use cookies that need your consent, we'll ask first and update this page.
