Data Studio

In short: Data Studio is dashboards and reporting software, with freemium pricing.

Free reporting and dashboard tool from Google, formerly known as Looker Studio

Data Studio is a reporting and data visualisation tool made by Google. It was known as Looker Studio from 2022 until April 2026, when Google returned it to its original name. It is used by marketers, analysts and agencies to turn data from many sources into interactive dashboards and shareable reports.

Reports are built in the browser with drag-and-drop charts, tables, filters and controls, and can be shared with individuals, teams or the public, edited together in real time or embedded in web pages. Built-in and partner connectors bring in data from Google products such as Google Ads, BigQuery and Google Sheets, alongside other platforms. Search marketers commonly use it to combine organic and paid search data into client or management reports.

The standard edition is free. Data Studio Pro is a paid edition licensed per user and tied to a Google Cloud project, adding organisation-owned content, team workspaces, project-level permissions and AI features. Existing Looker Studio reports moved to Data Studio automatically.
