About MarketMuse
In short: MarketMuse is content optimisation, keyword research and competitor research software, with freemium pricing and a free trial.
AI content planning tool for content inventories, briefs, topic clusters and optimisation
MarketMuse is an AI based content planning and optimisation platform for SEO and content teams. It was founded in Boston in 2013 by Aki Balogh, with Jeff Coyle joining as co-founder in 2015, and was acquired by Siteimprove in October 2024. It is used by publishers, brands and agencies that need to plan and improve content across large sites.
The platform builds a site inventory and analyses content at scale, showing where a site has topical authority and where it has gaps. It includes competitive and SERP analysis, topic tracking, content clusters, content briefs, strategy documents and an optimisation editor that scores drafts against the topics a page should cover. Briefs come in several types depending on plan.
A free plan includes limited applications for one user and ten queries a month. Paid plans named Optimize, Research and Strategy add site inventories, tracked topics, briefs and more users, with prices given through a demo. A free trial is also offered.
